How to find new meme coins early (and the risks)

Thousands of meme coins launch every day, mostly on Solana. Finding one early is the easy part; finding one with real buyers, and knowing when it's a trap, is the hard part.

  1. Know where they launch. On Solana, most start on Pump.fun and move to PumpSwap or Raydium once they gain traction. DexScreener and GeckoTerminal list new pairs on every chain.
  2. Filter for real trading. Most new tokens barely trade. MemeViewAI lists a token only when it trades at least $1,000 a minute (about $1.44 million a day), which removes most of the noise.
  3. Watch for volume spikes. A sudden jump in trading, such as 1-hour volume at least 3× the token's normal rate, often comes before a big move, in either direction.
  4. Check safety before anything else. Run the seven checks in "How to rug check a Solana token". A token that fails them isn't early, it's bait.
  5. Measure from the moment it was found. MemeViewAI records the price and market cap at its first signal, then tracks how far the token goes from there: X gain, and milestones at 2×, 5×, 10× and up.
  6. Expect most to fall. Of 39,004 tokens MemeViewAI signalled between 30 Dec 2025 and 22 Oct 2026, 28% peaked at 2× or more after the signal, 3.6% at 10× or more and 0.2% at 100× or more, but 90% now trade below the price at the signal (the typical one at about 0.09×). Plan your exits, size small, and never use money you can't afford to lose.
